DB LODGE 29 JUNE MINUTES: Vice president Thomas Buus opened the June meeting, promptly @7 PM with pledge of allegiance and 24 members and guests in attendance.  All officers were present except for Past President Michael Nielsen, President Dean Larsen and guard Thomas Larsen.  Correspondence:  A note from the Scandinavian hour about their bulletin board where we can post all our functions to be announced on Saturday morning on KKNW 1150 from 9 to 10 AM. A sponsor Patty’s Eggnest, a family restaurant will donate a few $200 gift certificates to local clubs, to support the radio station.     **Lodge #29 agreed to pay for replacing the Danish flag at Bergen place, and will pay up to $50 to a Nordic website that will list all Scandinavian functions and give links to all the clubs that participate.          **Flemming reported on golf--there are still a few spots left for the July 12th tournament at Gold Mountain.       **Skt. Hans is on Sat. June 21st @ Jens Laundrup’s. Also, the All Danish picnic is on Sunday, July 27th.         ** Veterans Night: Thomas Buus will chair the veterans night, Lexie and Frank volunteered to help, watch for date and details for this event in the fall.

**The Himmelbjerget campership committee has looked over applications for camperships from Peyton Jacobsen, Amelia Jacobsen, Kristina Buus and Melisa Buus and have granted each of them $150.00 to be paid out to their families after camp. Big Pot: Lillian Wolff would have won if she had been present, but Vibeke Iozzi won the $100.Our meeting adjourned @ 7:16 to prepare to meet and hear former Danish Energy minister Sven Auken speak about green power.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    ---Submitted by Secretary Frank Poulsen

10TH ANNUAL GREAT DANE GOLF TOURNAMENT: Reserve Saturday, July 12, 2008 for Lodge 29’s annual event on Gold Mountain’s Cascade Course. There are a few spots left (payment must be received by Flemming before your spot is secure!). Cost: $65 per DB members ($70 for non DB golfers) Entry fee includes golf, prizes and burger/chicken with all the trimmings

DB LODGE 29 MAY MINUTES: President Dean Larsen opened the meeting May 7th.@ 7.35   with pledge of allegiance and 23 members in attendance.  Role call:  all officers were present except for past president Michael Nielsen and 1st. Trustee Leif Sorensen who both were excused. Correspondence; Newsletters from Tacoma, Eugene and Vancouver brotherhood lodges were received and lett out for members to look at. A report and quarterly magazine from the Nordic Heritage Museum were received with a donation form for their 2008 annual fundraising campaign. Applications for Himmelbjerget camp grants were received from Melissa Buus and Christina Buus Initiation: Lodge #29 initiated a new member Susanne Cleavenger to our society, after the initiation ceremony Susanne told us a little about herself and her past. A brief moment was taken to let our members greet Susanne  Minutes:  The minutes was accepted as printed in our newsletter  Treasurer Report:  The Treasurer report was accepted as presented by our treasurer Lexie Sørensen   Announcements: it was announced that Anne Hollister was home celebrating her 80th birthday on May 7th and Egon Calundann will celebrate his 70th birthday on May 13th. Kaj Christensen and his wife Else are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 10th. Egon was also introduced as our new DBIA NW District President. Egon introduced his cousin Inga from Denmark as his guest to our meeting.  Committee Report: Flemming reported on the July 12th. Golf outing to Gold Mountain he now has 24 signed up, and expects a full house of 40 again this year.  Christmas party, It has been decided to cancel our Christmas party that has been held at the West Seattle Masonic hall for many years due to lack of participation and people to put it on.  Dean will contact NWDF to see if we can arrange something with them. Frank reported on the district convention held in Tacoma in April. Egon Callundan spoke as District President and his hope for a successful year ahead.  Annelise Kromann reported on the design meeting she went to at the Nordic Heritage Museum, there is still a long way to go before a design is set, but the Museum has asked for input from all Scandinavian groups  New business:  with recommendation from the board the lodge voted to donate $500 to the Nordic Heritage museums 2008 fundraiser campaign, Also donate $ 100 to the upcoming Skt. Hans fest to be held at Jens Laundrup’s house in Woodinville on June 21th.   Good and welfare:  Kenneth Olsen donated a case of Carlsberg beer to the lodge for helping with the Queens Birthday party.  Otto reported on the old Washington Hall building that was owned by Lodge #29 many years ago, it is slated to be remodeled extensively and everybody is welcome to come and see the old building one last time before remodeling on October 20 from 6.30 to 8 PM.  Minna asked for volunteers to help Anna Barfoed cutting grass and a little yard clean up.    Small pot:  Thomas Larsen won the small pot. Big pot: if the following members had been present they could have gone home with $100  Gert Jacobsen, Danny Stavnshoj, or Erik Bodholt, but Egon Calundann was there and won the $100          Meeting adjourned @  8.17     ---Submitted by Secretary Frank Poulsen

Please bring your own folding chairs if you are able

Bring blankets, tents & sleeping bags if you are staying overnight

       Jens has a big back yard and makes breakfast for anyone who wants to spend the night.
